How The World Searched and Tweeted In 2010!

Both Google and twitter have released their trending topics for the year 2010.

Google Zeitgeist 2010

Google’s Zeitgeist 2010 (google.com/zeitgeist2010) is based on an aggregation of the billions of searches from across the world. Top global events included the World Cup, the Haiti earthquake, and the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Google has created an HTML5 visualization of the searches, so you can see where and what folks were interested in.

They have also released an video wherein they’ve integrated these events with the various Google products released in 2010.

Twitter’s – Year In Review

Twitter has also unveiled its Year In Review at yearinreview.twitter.com, although much of it is still “coming soon”. Today’s peek into Twitter 2010 looks at a few of the 100 million new members Twitter has acquired this year and top trends including Gulf Oil Spill and FIFA World Cup.
